Gameplay Mechanics
-Implemented a basic collection system.
-Got damage and health working.
-Started formatting the checkpoint framework.
-Made a jump-undo/damage launch for when the player falls onto a damaging item, negating an instant death.
Greyboxing
-The Sewer, Docks, and Final Boss Arena levels are greyboxed.
-We need to finish greyboxing the Central Park, and Rooftops levels.
NPC and Main Character
-We ran into a few problems with the Cubie model and rig. We need to revisit the model itself to add the grapple hook dock (part for animation) and fix the arms before re-rigging him.
-The Dr. Botany is textured and ready to be rigged.
-All of the enemy Bronions are textured and most are rigged and ready for animation.
-We are currently working on the low-poly human model for the infected human enemy.
Playtest Level
We implemented and built a playtest level for players to check out the simpler gameplay mechanics and our first/tutorial level. This playtest focuses on the jump and ledge grab mechanics as well as the starter version of our collectible system.
Note: This game is meant to be played with a controller so the mouse and camera movements are slightly off.
Playtest Questions
On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate the player's movement abilities?
