25% Milestone Post
After weeks of working on our thesis paper and our game concepts we are finally working on the game. Iconic Cube Adventure is in development!
Story Concepts
We have discussed the story to a intense degree. The evil Doctor Botany has come to "Earth" to overtake the planet with his evil Bronion plague. Cubie is a shipping robot who must save the day by making his way to Doctor Botany's ship to defeat him and save the planet.
Art Concept Pieces
This is a current collection of concept pieces that began on Tuesday, February 15th. The concept piece in blue ink was created by Stef and Cubie concepts are made by Mariah, Govan, Evan and Brendan respectively. The city art is by Evan, and all Bronion and Doctor Botany art is from Mariah.
Mechanics Concepts
Govan created a basic movement system in Unreal. Check it out! He also added late/ghost jump mechanic, that allows the player to jump after they fall off an edge. This coincides with our game design philosophy of making fluid and rewarding yet fair gameplay.
Artstyle
In an effort to make our game stand out we are going with a unique artstyle. Our games graphics, UI, and textures will be highly influenced by the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation One graphical style. Posted above are some images of concept art for textures and models.
